We got some Flexible Aluminium piping for our Air inlet so we needed a couple of adaptors, one for the Airflow sensor inlet and the other to step down the size of the Filter. looking at the astronomical prices some companies are charging for these adaptors we decided to make our own.
This is the one for the Airflow sensor, we used some steel sheet drilled the 4 holes to suit the sensor and welded a strip the same diameter of the flexy pipe. Then we drilled out the center section the same size as the sensor inlet.
Once it was all welded up and trimmed we gave it a coat of liquid metal which smoothed it all up nicely, you can see the shape of the center hole which matches the sensor. It all fitted together using a rubber gasket.
The other adaptor was made in the same way and fits the filter nicely. So now we have our two adaptors lets put it together!

This is the other end and shows the pipe coming out of the injector block. We are routing it down and across to the Airflow sensor which will be bolted to the chassis then on towards the filter.
Here you can see the airflow sensor bolted to the chassis via a home made angle.
Here it is with the Filter plumbed in. There is plenty of flex in the pipes to allow for engine movement and it leaves us room for making some kind of bonnet lock.
The Filter clamps onto a small bit of Ally that is bolted to the Power steering bracket nice and simple.
And here is the nearly finished set up we are quite happy with the way it looks, the final thing we want to do is to fit a small shield around the filter to keep out any Ram air and heat from the engine.
After a while we decided the Aluminium tubing was not really very good it holed very easily, Dougie at Paul Goy racing advised us to get rid after he struggled to find a leak on one of the inlet pipes. We finally came across these heavy duty tubing at the Donnington show.
It was a bugger to fit but looks really good and is a lot stronger than the old stuff.
