Katie gives us a hand
Katie came over and gave us a hand doing the Fan ducts, she got the Pop riveters out and secured the alloy box section that we had formed that will fit under the blower ducts. It has a tube section coming out one end to which we will connect the blower tube.
Here she is cutting the tube sections.
This is how the tube looks in place, We secured the tube both sides with Jubillie clips.....
And finally we sealed the whole box up with RTV sealant, If you look at the lower end of the box we have added a bit of ally at an angle to push the airflow upwards (Hope it works)
And here are the two lovely kids at the end of the evening!
We attached the lower duct using the 3 dome head bolts which also hold the upper windscreen ducts. We also secured the whole thing with RTV sealant which will hold the other side of the box which does not have any bolts!
Here they are both sides fitted to the underside of the scuttle, They are a lot more shallow than the plastic ones from the donor Sierra so they will be clear of the rest of the bits on the underside like the Wipers!
Here we have the left hand side glued and bolted in place, as you can see we have put a slope on the opposite side of the inlet hose so that should hopefully help direct the air upwards and onto the windscreen.
Here is Joey modelling the ducting pipes coming from the heater ready to be connected to the scuttle ducts, These pipes were removed from our Crappy old Dyson Vacuum cleaner, so at last something good has come out of that heap of Junk

(I don't know what he is doing with his hands though!)
Here is how we have attached the lower Ducting to the footwell panels, Lots of sealant and some locking wire holding it in position.
On the inside we have attached a plastic duct to direct the air towards the footwell.
