Joey and the New Horn!
And what he did with his Big drill...
The horn we had was rubbish you just got a little honk out of it then a flatter sort of hum and nothing else, WD40 down the hole failed to cure it so off it came, we got the one off the Rover which was much better a real Parp now.
The mounting hole on the center of this bracket needed opening up so Joey set to it with the 12mm drill.
Now being a 13 year old and learning to use hand and power tools you are bound to make the odd booboo, Joey did drill slowly but he was not ready when the drill cut through the Ally bracket and the drill pulled itself down.
Now unfortunately for our Hero Joey, the radiator is pretty near by......
Dad, Dad the radiators leaking !!!!!.
Here is another view of the radiator and bracket. The top arrow was where he was drilling the hole out, the bottom arrow was the point of penetration (Ooo Err)
Here he is pointing out his handywork! Ha Ha.
And this is probably what the poor lad was having nightmares about for the next few days, Seriously though I did point out to him that he is only 13 years old, he started building his car when he was 12. If this is the biggest problem so far that is nothing to worry about. I told him about mine and others "Oops" during my time in the RAF, cost the taxpayer millions I can tell you, Ha Ha. Like my mate Graham who got called out to a leak whilst the crew were onboard their Tornado, APU running (Starter jet engine) Graham got out his rag wiped the leak and his rag got sucked into the APU intake Oooooooops! Ha Ha £250k down the drain and he never heard the end of it.
I think Joey is OK about his minor booboo now!
Anyway it allowed us to tidy up the bit where the airflow sensor is.
We now have a nice restored radiator, nicely painted £17.63 Inc from "Serck Intertruck", Lincoln.
By the way they all said it looked like a Transit radiator?
