clutch Pedal Jumping.

Coming home the other night after a drive I put my foot on the clutch pedal and there was a loud click (Loud enough for Joey to notice) and the pedal felt odd, the clutch still worked but the pedal was floppy. It happened once more when we arrived at our house.
I was sure it was something to do with the plastic Clutch pawl thingy. The biggest pain with that was we had to remove the scuttle, one good thing we found is if you leave the blower pipes fitted the scuttle then rests nicely on the top of the dash.

Here we have the Clutch cable adjuster thingy. (The White thing). Initially I had a good look and the teeth all seemed to be in good condition so it had to be the locking bit of plastic at the top of the pedal. Please excuse my descriptions I don't know their real names!
Next thing we took out the pedal box shaft, something which is not too easy a job either.

And we found this "The Locking bit of plastic" mentioned above. As you can see the teeth are worn so would not slot into the Pawl "The White bit" properly.
Luckily we had a brand new one of these, I think when buying the Pawl we had a bit of dificulty getting the right one so when we returned the Pawl we must have forgot this bit too, Oh well.

All sorted, Joey polishes it up ready for a 30 mile road test!
