Making use of an old Washing Machine

Will it be a hat?

Mmm, could be a decent exhaust cover but its bent the wrong way!

So here is Joey bending it the right way using a welding bottle as a former!

Here it is bent to shape "ish" but it does not look quite long enough!

Now he is checking it up against the exhaust silencer with the extra extension piece fitted.
It now looks like a good fit after we fitted the extra piece which we trimmed in curving round the holes to suit..

Here is Joeys own design of mounting brackets, the G Clamp is holding the top rear support angle onto the Exhaust mounting bracket, and you can also see the Bottom support which we will screw in place.

Here's a good picture of the boy working hard on his Heat Shield mountings.

Here Joey is cutting a thread on the forward attachment bracket, this bracket will be welded to another piece that will bend up to support the top whilst this bit supports the heatshield at the bottom.

Like this.
You can see the top mounting angle and the lower one. Joey is welding the two together.

His "Lazybones" Sister Katie, helps Joey mount the brackets.

Yes Pal its looking good now!

Now this takes us back to the "Dark Ages" when we were going to follow the masses and squeeze our battery into the tiny space at the front                     Thank goodness we decided to do ours the better way!
It means our old Battery Tray (Remember this ?) is now surplus so we can use it to make a plate for the front of our Exhaust shield.

Here you can see the ex-battery tray being put to much better use at the front of the heat Shield. Now we just have to rivet the whole thing up and we are finished with it.
Looks Good don't you think?

We decided to add a strengthening strip under the floor to give added support to the front Heat Shield bracket.
It will be covered up by the carpet just forward of the Drivers seat

Her is the finished item, nice and secure and Looks good to boot!

We trimmed up the Hole where the Exhaust comes out with this Painted Aluminium plate, looks good, and will keep any prying fingers or Spheres out of the way!

And the Nice Stainless clamp from "Aidpac" will also make Mr SVA Happy !
