Now Some Final Trimming for the SVA!

To cover the lower sections of Dash Tube we made up some Ally plates the right size then we rivitted them to a piece of trimmed gutter tube so this section just clips firmly in place, then we covered it all with leatherette and trimmed the edges.

The front suspension and wishbone area took some trimming, we used rubber edging trim round all the flat bits. We covered the steering shaft with a piece of water pipe with the split at the bottom and held on with 2 tywraps so hopefully this will be enough.
The big nuts on the coilover have apparently caused problems in the past, we used the plastic covers that were on the Sierra's front suspension, we cut it to size and then glued it snugly in place and finally wrapped the whole thing with some stick on foam strip.

We have made use of these plastic covers which are normally used on numberplates, Hopefully this will be OK on the test if not we will just take them off and cover the screwhead with some RTV sealant.

On the rear wheelarch where the Stainless meets the GRP we had some rough edges so we decided to put a thin strip of RTV along it. We put a couple of strips of Masking tape in place then a small fillet of sealant and skimmed a piece of metal over it and when we removed the tape we were left with a nice straight line.
