Wales05 "The Rough one"
We were very kindly again invited to accompany the NW hoodies on their annual trek to North Wales, the only difference was that this year we had our car ready to go "Cool". We must get ourselves some smaller sleeping bags thats what you can see strapped to the roll cage. Just below that is our Home made Hood, which hopefully we will not need.
We left in plenty of time to meet the gang on the M56. It was quite lucky we did go early because we got to Gainsborough and were then diverted because the only bridge for 20 miles was blocked by an accident Doh!.
This new route took us past our friend Steve at "Hi-Q in Gainsborough so we popped in for a quick chat, then we were on our way to "Scunthorpe" and the nearest bridge.
As it was we just made it in time, we saw Barry first waiting on the bridge, unfortunately we were too late to turn off so we parked up on the next bridge and Barry followed on. We had only been waiting 5 minutes when we started hearing chatter on the CB yes it was the rest of the gang so we jumped in the cars and wizzed after them.
Here we are at the first petrol stop where we waited for the chief navigator "Tony Tank" after a while we decided he might have got lost so we would press on and hopefully meet him there. (We did in the end)
We arrived at the Hostel and there was an awful lot of scraping noises coming from some cars (Mostly ours!)
Roll on getting our Gaz Shockers because ours is definately too low for this kind of track.
This was just the start of it though Tony had a lot rougher routes planned
Perhaps this is what we had coming!
Now we are parked up its time for some quick maintenance here Big Jim is sorting out our CB Aerial so we got a better signal (Thanks Jim).
Next job was Andy Windows Vauxhall lump that was spewing oil out of the breather, it was soon agreed that a plate under the rocker cover was to blame and needed trimming. So off came the cover!
It did not take too long to take the rocker plate off and the waste was quickly trimmed as required. Here we have Andy looking "Concerned" and getting moral support from Andy and John.
In the end this Modification sorted Andys car and it was time for the Pub.
Here we are at the Y Bedol in Tal-Y-Bont. Jean and Robbo caused a bit of a rumpus when they dismantled one of the seats Jim soon got his camera out to record the incident.
After playing pool Joey decided to try his hand at Darts, first he had to do the scoring then he had a game with Big Kev. He actually did quite well for his first game ever.
Saturday Morning gave us this picture, Now why is Big Jim marching Sheeny in his Sheeps outfit into the field?
To shoot him of course
We lined up at the Y-Bedol for a photo shoot and then we were on our way, where we were going nobody knew Except Tony Tank
Well after some pretty interesting roads we came to a halt!
Tony Finally admitted to Kev that we were lost and that he did not want to be leader any more, Sob Sob

Only kidding.
After more bumps and grinds we stopped again for Tony to align his Map thingy. Then we got past the farmers fields and onto some bigger roads which suited Joeys 2B a lot better.
At the first toilet stop I had a look under the car to see what was bottoming outand saw the Zeemeride bottom nicely bent Arghh! Thank goodness we are getting our Gaz's soon
We had our dinner stop in a little place called "Blaenau Ffestiniog" Joey was very impressed that they had a "Thomas the Tank engine" there

It was a nice little village "Quiet" but nice, Joey and I got a sandwich from the COOP struth you should see how they spell that in Welsh
We just had time to "align the Navigator" ready for the next step.
We thought we had lost Sheeny when we saw this bloke chasing a sheep
Now the roads were much better and here we see Big Kev taking the racing line
Its cracking having the CB because we can all chatter and take the Mickey whilst wizzing along, its also useful that the tail end charlie can report to the big leader how the convoy is running.
The weather was fine just a few spots of rain but it was funny to see there was still snow at the top of the mountains
The roads were excellent
And the views were dramatic.
We stopped for a cuppa somewhere in Wales and Joey found a shop with his name on it, Like him it was a bit expensive
Big Kev send a message to all our RHOcar mates who were not here
Because two of the clan had to leave that night their cars were at the pub, a local Westfield driver stopped off to chat he was a very nice chap too. Even better when we found out that he had his "Battery in the Boot!"
later on after Westy had gone someone said that they wonder if a load of Westfields were at a pub and a lone Hood stopped off, "Would the Westys come out for a chat on mass like we did" Sadly we came to the conclusion that they probably would not
Meanwhile Jim took his chance and gave Joey a Wedgie
Joeys first beating of the year
