Fitting a better Air Filter

We decided a bent plate of steel was not really the ideal way of filtering the inlet air so the fitted one needed replacing.
Joey and I took a trip to the weekends "Newark Autojumble", The weather was really warm so we decided to take Joey's Hood. It was a good choice as it got us in cheap and also gave us another chance to "Talk Hoods" with the public.
One of the stalls had a few filters on sale, Joey immediately found what he wanted a nice flat K & N, Universal Jobby. He managed to Haggle the bloke down from £15 to 12 so we were both happy.
He did some very good measuring out and then cut out the hole in the bottom filter plate, Using the bottom plate as a template he then cut out a gasket. It all fitted really well, all credit to the lad.

Here we see him screwing the filter housing and Gasket to the Carb.

And now the Filter Element and top plate!

Now we have a nice looking filter instead of a Rusty bit of Steel Plate, so everyone is happy
(Except our NW Mate Big Jim who hates this type of filter )
