Big Lee's Smallways Trip
OK, OK so we never made it by our predicted 7pm, but considering a few hours before we did not even have the windscreen fitted, I think we did OK, time for a few beers anyway
Next morning dawned lovely and warm, Lee's engine seemed to be attracting a lot of interest. Wonder if this is a sign of things to come ?
The route was planned!
And we were soon on our way, 14 Hoods in convoy, What a site
First stop was not far it was the big Museum, Stately home Building that featured in the Hoody Calendar, Shame it was covered in Scaffolding
Mind you it was a mighty fine line up.
Later on we caused Chaos At the Petrol Station
First breakdown stop was Courtesy of Red 7, and look where we stopped ! Right outside the "Smith Klyne Beechams HQ" Thats the lot that make the MMR Jab and we all know what Joey and I think about them
Pretty soon Red and the rest of us were on the open roads and feeling great, shame about the Motorbikes , but we soon lost this pair when we got to the bendy bits
At the Cafe on the top of the hill we realised where all the bikes were coming from! In the distance you could see the Soloway Firth and even Scotland.
Looks like Red 7 is Lost but the boys soon sorted him out
The road home was just as much fun, but we still had to contend with "Idiots" on Motorbikes riding beyond their means. On a number of occasions we nearly had oncoming Bikers heads coming through the windscreen because they were cutting the corners right in the middle of the bloody road!
We were taken to a "Ford" where Steve proved that Red 7 is up to the challenge and ploughed his way through first
He even came back, "Showing off now"
Adrian was the only other Hoody to brave the river and he definately won the prize for fastest crossing
Oh dear, Big Lee's bonnets off again. How embarrassing having to bump start him in front of all these bikers
Poor Ken, he just can't keep up these days
After a very nice meal in the pub "Smallways Inn" Jamie gave Joey some lessons in Pool !
Then Big lee got a bit of the old "One to One"
I don't think that Joey was listening when Jamie told him where to put the chalk
Now this is a real "caption contest" picture if ever I saw one
And Big lee's gone for the dogs again
The next morning we all dispersed and went our merry way, Tired but Happy. Bill and joey

We now have the Laminated Windscreen fitted so feel a lot safer now
(Thanks to Mick, Marius and the lads
)
The Cars as usual created a lot of interest, a bus load of Canadian tourists seemed to show more interest in the cars than the Museum !

(Shame we did not have a half brick handy)
There was also a couple of pathetic looking figures standing at the side of the road crying over the wrecked remains of their recently dropped HondawackiSuzi
"Shame"

We would both like to say Well done to Big Lee for organising this great weekend.
