Stripping the DOHC

Here we are then the first of our Tuesday evenings at Lee's garage. And here we came upon our first problem. Lee's £5 Wikes Floodlight failed to function. So the first night was a settling in period which consisted of me Joey and Bethany going back and forward to our house desperately trying to get some sort of light.
In the end we managed to take a few of the more visable bits off but we must do better next time!

Come Friday night we were fully lighted up and we got some serious work done, Lee took the delecate route to taking the front end off,

Meanwhile The young ones were busy trying to see through the smoke to remove the interior.

In no time at all we had removed every nut and bolt holding the Donk in, Lee had his Grinder handy to deal with the Exhaust and the Driveshaft, so it was now time to lift the lot out.

And here it is removed and looking good, Lee spent the rest of the evening drooling over it

So next off is the Front wheels, rack, suspension all at once. Lee get your Grinder out!

Meanwhile Bethany and Joey had done a good job of stripping the inside!

The next night Lee tried his hand at fitting the mass of the wiring loom through the little hole to the engine bay!

He did seem to be making a meal of it with Lots of winging!

In the end Joey helped the situation and helped Lee out

Now we see Bethany modelling the Loom!

And here the end of evening Beer Lee and Joey admire the lines of the DOHC and wonder if it will ever fit in the Pillock Chassis.

Right this should be the last night's work on the "Strip" so lets get on.
Here we see Lee and Joey checking if there is anything left to take out of the shell's engine bay.

It was decided to roll the car on to its side so we could cut off all the bits we needed rather than get underneath the rusty hulk.

Single handedly "Superman" Lee rolled the car over

Then the cutting began!

It did not take very long to remove most of the bits we wanted, until we got to the silly rubbery bracket that holds the Diff in place. It took forever to get the bugger off!

Whilst our Hero Lee was cutting this bracket Bill noticed that where there had been a fuel spill after Lee had previously yanked off the fuel tank, the sparks had caused a fire.
What happened then was like a "Comic Strip Presents" when Bill told Lee there was a fire, Lee just responded "Mumble Mumble", Bill was quite suprised how calm Lee was considering the size of this blaze and urged Lee to help put it out.
Then when Lee realised what was happening the running around looking for an extinguisher
As it was by the time Lee had got a Bucket of water (and Bill had got the camera out) the fire was nearly out
So looks like we are finished with this shell after 6 hours work!
