Barkston Sprint Event Five

July's event was the test for Joe's new intake set up, he had got rid of the LH Headlight and in its place was the cone Air filter. When Irene and her fellow Marshaller (me) first heard Joe rocketting down the back straight we thought he had knocked something off the exhaust
It sounded fabulous, like a real racing car, initial reports from Joe were very encouraging, it revved much more freely right up to 7000rpm

From a spectators (Marshals) viewpoint the anticlockwise lap is very entertaining, I think it may be a bit of a problem at times for drivers as you can see here

Simon's Jedi was as awsome as ever !

Whereas Howie's Golf was cocking its leg as much as it ever was

And Joe and the Metro drove faultlessly all day which earned them first in class, and moved them up to fourth in the championship.
Nice one!

RAFMSA Barkston Sprint Event 6

Well the day of Reckoning has arrived, but who's this other car? Wahey its young Aiden's "nice one fella", great to see the young ones are still invited in, Struth that makes it sound like Joe's an old fella It will be good for him next year when his times are counted, go for it Mate!

Now here is a cracking car its Dave Oldale's Vauxhall powered Westfield, Sounds fabulous and seriously quick!

Irene was busy keeping notes on the drivers

We had a laugh when some of the "older" drivers took part, here we have John "Tiger" Walton in his ... Tiger! Actually this is one of the rare occasions that he has not spun for the camera

Joey using his "green Stuff Pads" to the max!

Aiden was sqealing his tyres with the best of them!

Not quite as much as Martyn in his Jaguar though

And Chris was going one better than his Dad by only using 3 wheels through the corners

Mind you this is quite normal for Howie

Darren must be in the reckoning for an overall win!

This is where everyone spends their time at the end of a Barkston meet, "The time sheet window"

Wow, after a cracking season with 75 competitors driving all manner of cars the result came through that Simon Wing had won in his Jedi with Darren Berris in Second in his V8 Westfield, Joe finished a fine "Third place" in his £50 Metro well done that man
Cue a very proud Dad and Irene!
Roll on the "Fire and Thunder" meet.
