Pancorbo and Vallendolid Pancorbo

The nice man at the reception told us to go and find the space we wanted and we could come back to pay later.
The site itself was fantastic there was, Loads of space, Electrical points, Hot showers and then of course was ......................

The fabulous Views!

It was nice to unload the cars after such a long time they had been fully laden. Joey got stuck in erecting the tent, Irene did some unloading, Meanwhile I got stuck in ......

Taking Pictures
Just take a look at this for a pretty view! We decided there and then to stay an extra day here, this would mean we had to travel 1000 miles in two and a half days to catch our ferry but this place was worth it.

After setting up camp we had a quick drink in the hotel where the man told us some nice routes to go and also told us about the "Vultures" Gulp!!!
Undeterred we walked along the road towards "Pancorbo" The scenery was lovely, look at this little bell tower high up in these rocks!

Irene took a seat to soak in the magnificent scenery.

Mind you she did not sit down for long when this "Bugger" started circling overhead
The "Big" birds looked really graceful flying around but try as we might we could not persuade Joey to lie down and pretend to be dead till we got a good picture,
Spoilsport!

Pancorbo soon came into view,

Everywhere you look there is something pretty to look at, this is our idea of a holiday, forget the packed beaches and "English pubs" this is Real Spain!

This is the main road through Pancorbo, will make a good place for a picture with the "Hoods" later on.

See what I mean about the views!

This chap made us laugh, look at the size of his "Log"

On the way back to the campsite we took the green route on the other side of the road, the man at the Hotel told us about this way so we decided to give it a go.
Still had the magnificent views but less traffic!

Joey soon started walking faster when our feathered friend turned up again!

Wonder why Irene is hiding under the bridge? the route followed a nice little river.

After a while the vegetation got a bit high for us poor ramblers in our shorts and we ended up with some rather scratched legs

The long trek did make the pint of "San Miguel" in the Hotel seem that much nicer though!

The next day we took a drive to one of the places that Irene's had read about "Valladolid". In the book it was described in a way that sounded like Pancorbo is now. When we got there it was obvious that things had changed somewhat since Laurie Lee wrote his book.

There was a lot of building work going on, more houses by the look of it! Similar to whats happening back home really I suppose, sad really!

We saw this lovely roundabout in Valladolid, at first we thought it was a lot of names but after a couple of circuits we decided that it was "Hello" in lots of different languages. Nice touch eh?

Although time was getting on we decided to pop in to see the Museum in Valladolid, cars looked good in the car park.

Joey and Irene met "Albert" outside, Joe said "Whos he?"
Mr Einstein did not say much but I'm sure I saw him roll his eyes though

Wow, theres a surprise "Damon Hills" F1 car, wonder how it got here?

Irene and I were both gobsmacked that Joey had never heard of the "Archimedes Screw". Bloody youth of today what are they teaching them these days?

He did enjoy constructing the "Human Brain", typical "Boy" eh!
It was a lovely museum and well worth a visit, would have been nice to have more time there but we still enjoyed it.

Back in the cars and on towards our next stop which was to be a large Supermarket in Burgos where we were planning to get some supplies for the next couple of nights.

He might not know who "Einstein" is but he can take a good picture

The supermarket was brilliant and had loads of really interesting Meats and Fruits (And Beers)
Burgos residents were very interested in the cars which was quite a common thing we found in spain!

Back at the camp site we parked up the boys and cracked some beers and had a Cracking Barbie!
